Wake Up Wednesday

Started today out early with Wake Up Wednesday by the Neosho Chamber of Commerce!
We heard updates by the City of Neosho regarding the roundabout in progress out on Business 49/71, new storage facilities going in at 86 and Jay, Storm water mitigation in he Freeman and Lafayette areas, display cabinets at the City Hall reflecting Neosho History, Artwalk in conjunction with the Arts Council, and a new project on the square putting in electric outlets on the front of the buildings for upcoming events!
More updates by the County include a report from an Arborist regarding the status of trees on the square that will need to be coming down due to being hollow with loose limbs or completely dead, the existing Canopy building will be a new courthouse annex with a 2024 completion date, sales taxes are down about $40,000 with road taxes down about $11,000. Broadband survey is out and everyone needs to take this so work can continue on bringing broadband in for our residents - this should attract new people and businesses!
Updates from Jim Cummins, Superintendent for Neosho Schools continued urging the use of the survey for broadband. The Rise Stem school is now open! The school district is up about 100 students reflecting a 1% increase in student population. Check out the new website at neoshosd.org
Great news regarding a waiver that 1 of 20 school districts in the State were granted which allows the school to teach employability skills not just testing. The waiver hands back control to the local community and school and allows them to focus on more than teaching testing.
Laurie Lyerla with the Neosho spoke about the growth they have experienced this year and again urged everyone to take the Broadband survey. Please take it at home and at your work - you will need to be in the location to take it since it will do a speed test. They are adding 2 new billboards on I49 for Eat, Shop, Work, and Play in Neosho. Check out the experienceneosho app
The morning culminated with Ed House, owner of Eagle Outdoors. A sporting good store with the hometown touch. They are just a bunch of guys who are passionate about fishing and hunting and want to bring that to you with a personalized touch. This is their 2nd store but by no means the last.

Shout out to Matthew Neel and Teresa Bennett for volunteering and giving up their time to participate in representing Four Corners Realtors at the Local Leadership Academy. 1st session to in Sedalia!
It was an early start at 6:30 am.
Huge thanks to Bob Goldberg, NAR CEO who took time to share at the session today.
Also Andrea Sheridan, MR President, Jennifer Justus, Jeff Kester, Crickett Staggs, and Ashlee Martin.

All Member Appreciation Event

July 13th 4-7pm All Four Corner Realtors Members meet at Roaring River State Park for a fun filled time! Members brought their family to meet everyone and play games and lots of great food. For those who wanted to cool off they could jump in the river to cool off. The kids had fun with the water guns and getting wet. SO much good food it was an amazing time.

Lending Panel Cassville

Local Members met in Cassville, MO at the Barry County Museum for breakfast and a chance to learn more about Lending. 4 Affiliate Banks made up the Lending Panel to share their knowledge and answer any questions. There was a great turn out and lots of great information.
