Vision Day

It was a great day for those attending Vision Day in McDonald County. REALTORS were a great presence reflecting their community spirit and desire for growth! We are committed with you to Building a Better Tomorrow!
We heard from Eric Findley, superintendent for McDonald County Schools. The storm shelters at EVERY school in McDonald County will be completed by the end of 2024 with some already operational - This is from Rocky Comfort to Wyandotte, Noel to Southwest City and those points between. Their Vision is Every Child Every Day.
Next was Dr. Katricia Pierson, President of Crowder College. Crowder celebrates their 10th year with the facilities in Jane - plan to join their celebration on May 9. There have been changes in the nursing, CMA, LPN, and paramedic programs so be ready for Fall 2024!
Following was Bryan Hall, Presiding Commissioner for McDonald County who reported that they operate solely on 2% sales tax and even with that down, the county road improvements are still happening. Even with the challenges with the Noel Tyson plant closing, the resiliency of the McDonald County residents, all working together, are working to overcome. God has a plan and has blessed us.
Next was Rusty Wilson, Mayor of Anderson. Anderson has a Vision to move forward making Anderson a great place to live, work, and play. They are continuing work on the sidewalk replacements, water line replacement. A new water project is in the planning stage and Revitalization of Main Street is still underway.
Gregg Sweeten, Mayor of Pineville reports that they now have a full staff of police officers for 24 hour protection. Mountain Ridge Subdivision has a new water tower under construction which will also supply additional water for the rest of town. The 800+ acres in Mountain ridge is being developed with a new water tank and treatment system to ensure good safe water for all. The Vision is to build a recreation center.
Renee Denton, CEO Freeman Neosho gave information for the school tele-medicine which helps with the constant challenge of health care. Each school has a tele-medicine machine that helps keep children healthy and in school. After parental permission is given for the child to be diagnosed with the machine, parents are able to view the diagnosis in progress via phone or device or in person. This has resulted in a 69% increase of school faculty and students to remain in school after being diagnosed with a non-transmissionable illness. Their vision is to use tele-medicine further to all residents and will include Ear, Nose, and Throat as well as Cardiology and bring accessible healthcare to all McDonald County and Neosho residents. They want to grow with you and work with you!
The chamber has grown to nearly 300 members. Check with them for healthcare benefits, visit the outdoor market every 4th Saturday at Wood Motor Company, attend the Lunch and Learns. promotions, contacts, and opportunities. The chamber encourages money spent in your community with Economic development, trades committees, legislative committees.

Affiliate Appreciation

Members came to show their appreciation to our Affiliates with a Mexican Fiesta and lots of mingling. Realtors Provided all the great food for our Affiliates to enjoy. Everyone had a great time.

December Membership Meeting

A wonderful December membership meeting including installation of 2024 officers, swearing in ceremony for new REALTORS, awards and recognition. $2702 raised for our local food pantries.
Congratulations to Lisa Wilson, outgoing President and Susan Forbes, outgoing Secretary Treasurer, new board members, Leigh Ann DuParri as President, Sally Bush as Vice President, Shannon Frieling as Secretary Treasurer, Ben Davis and Dan Forbes and Matthew Neel as directors.

Legislative Meet N Greet

Members came to meet 3 of their local Legislative representatives. There was so much learned for all who attended. There was a great buffet of food. It was a great event that we will be doing it again!
